Job summary

JLL is seeking an Operating Engineer to maintain, troubleshoot and repair facility equipment across all major systems. The role focuses on one craft while remaining multi-skilled to support daily tasks and occupancy needs.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, and coordinating with contractors. Must hold EPA 608 Type II and have strong technical troubleshooting abilities; candidates should be able to work in varied environments and be available for call-in work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2–4 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
• Ability to analyze operation of various mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems and take corrective action.
• EPA 608 Type II Certification.
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and life safety systems to standards.
• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot facility equipment and controls.
• Document readings, calibrations and adjustments for proper operation.
• Manage preventive maintenance, inventory, and coordination with contractors.
• Ensure safe storage and handling of hazardous materials; maintain a clean work area.
• Be available for call-in work and support other duties as required.
