Job summary

Mower County is seeking a Facilities Technician to perform maintenance, repair, and cleaning duties for County facilities to ensure reliable operation of buildings, grounds, and equipment.

Responsibilities include operating boilers, HVAC maintenance, basic plumbing/electrical repairs, and grounds work. Licenses required include a Minnesota Driver’s License and Special Engineer Boiler License; a Second Class C Boiler Engineer’s License is preferred, with a timeline to obtain if hired.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Minnesota Special Engineer Boiler License required at hire.
• Second Class C Boiler Engineer’s License preferred; must obtain within 18 months if hired with Special License.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine inspections of Building Automation Systems, HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Reviews and prioritizes assigned work orders and maintenance requests.
• Maintains County grounds, including mowing lawns and snow removal.
• Changes filters and performs routine maintenance on HVAC equipment.
• Performs minor plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
• Maintains records related to facility operations and service requests.
