Job summary

University Of Nebraska Medical Center is seeking an Apprentice Facilities Technician to assist with preventive maintenance, work orders and minor renovations across HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical trades.

Required is a High School diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license, with at least two years of related experience. Strong safety awareness and the ability to communicate with campus staff are essential to success.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent.
• Two years of related maintenance experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Able to complete required safety training.
• Experience with HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, or temperature controls is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic to moderate preventive maintenance, work orders and minor renovations.
• Support HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, temperature controls, lighting and electrical tasks.
• Help with diagnostic testing and analysis of building systems.
• Communicate effectively with campus customers and technicians.
• Adhere to safety procedures and complete required safety trainings.

The Apprentice Facilities Technician will assist with the completion of basic and moderate levels of preventive maintenance, work orders, and minor renovations and to include the following trades: HVAC , refrigeration, plumbing, temperature controls, lighting and electrical.
