Job summary

Linamar Corporation in the United States is seeking a Facilities Technician - Janitor to maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the facility. The role reports to the Maintenance Manager and works with Manufacturing Operations and Management, following TS-16949 policies and PM procedures.

Responsibilities include inspections, inventory, heavy cleaning, restroom upkeep, moving furniture, and supporting simple repairs.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment is required.
• Knowledge of trade fundamentals for specialized service and repair.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
• Must use a variety of hand and power tools.
• Team player in a quality environment.
• Effective communication for scheduling and training.
• Ability to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Experience operating a sit-down forklift.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and neatness of the facility.
• Perform inspections to verify equipment is functioning within limits.
• Maintain supply inventory and submit orders to ensure adequate supply.
• Perform cleaning tasks including mopping, sweeping, restroom and break areas.
• Clean and sanitize floors, walls, windows, doors, and fixtures.
• Replenish restroom supplies as needed; include towel dispensers if applicable.
• Move furniture and equipment as assigned.
• Monitor exterior cleanliness of facility and parking areas.
• Report items needing attention and assist simple repairs.

Description

The Facilities Technician - Janitor reports to the Maintenance Manager and maintains a good working relationship with Manufacturing Operations and Management Team. This position also works under the guidance of TS-16949 Policies, work instructions and PM procedures.

Requirements

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Responsible for performing a variety of duties to ensure the maintenance, neatness, cleanliness, and safety of the facility.
• Perform inspections as necessary to verify that the designated equipment or machines are functioning within condition limits for the purpose intended.
• Maintain supply inventory and submits orders through appropriate sources in order to ensure adequate supply at all times.
• Performs a variety of cleaning tasks including but not limited to:
• Mopping, sweeping, trash collection, removal of trash, cleaning of the restrooms, break rooms, and training room.
• Cleans and sanitizes floors, walls, windows, doors, bathroom fixtures, etc.
• Replenish restroom supplies such as paper products and soap dispensers as needed; this also includes cloth towel dispensers if applicable.
• Move furniture and equipment as assigned.
• Monitor and maintain the outside cleanliness of the facility and parking lots.
• Reports to supervisor items needing attention: makes simple repairs and adjustments including unstopping toilet(s) as requested.

Academic Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred

• Ability to understand and complete verbal instructions.
• Required to use a variety of hand and power tools.

• Experience operating a sit-down Fork Lift
• Fork Lift Certification
