Linamar Corporation, a global manufacturing leader, seeks an Operations Manager in Indiana to plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee operations. You will develop efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization.

Key duties include collaborating with executive leadership, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring safe, productive workflows across production and facilities while aligning staffing and budgets with the business plan.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes, communicates, and implements strategic direction for operations.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to meet company goals and guide operations projects.
  • Coordinate with divisions to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Identify and implement new processes and technologies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Assess and implement new production processes and technologies to reduce costs.
  • Ensure staffing, development, and facility decisions align with business plans.
  • Provide momentum for continuous EHS improvements.
  • Perform trend and root cause analysis of incident data.
  • Coordinate production goals and deliverables across the department.
  • Develop and lead Production Supervisors; ensure safe work environment.
  • Enforce policy compliance and drive discipline where needed.
  • Establish policies, standards, and security measures for consistent support.
  • Review cost-control reports and staffing requirements; maintain department budget.
  • Present performance metrics to leadership; stay aware of industry trends.
  • Identify training needs and ensure effective training programs.

Job Title : Operations Manager

The Operations Manager will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee operations activities in the organization, ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization.

Responsibility
  • Establishes, implements, and communicates the strategic direction of the organization’s operations division.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems.
  • Collaborates with other divisions and departments to carry out the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.
  • Assess and implement new production and other operational processes and technologies (e.g., automation) to reduce operational costs and collaborate with management and other Linamar staff to implement such processes.
  • Ensures that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organization’s business plan and vision.
  • Provide momentum for continuous improvement to plant EHS efforts.
  • Perform trend and root cause analysis relating to incident data.
  • Responsible for overall coordination and communication of production goals.
  • Provides direction, development, and leadership to Production Supervisors.
  • Promote, monitor , and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Ensure accountability and discipline within the production department; motivate supervisors and employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
  • Adherence to all company policies & procedures (ex. Quality Policy Manual, Colleague Handbook, Level II Procedures, etc.).
  • Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution.
  • Reviews and approves cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for projects.
  • Establishes and administers the department’s budget.
  • Presents periodic performance reports and metrics to the chief executive officer and other leadership.
  • Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management.
  • Identifies training needs and ensures proper training is developed and provided.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Academic/Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, Engineering, or another industry-related field required ; MBA preferred.
  • At least 10 years of industry-related experience including three years in upper management required.

  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
