Job summary

Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems in Fitchburg, MA is seeking an entry-level facilities technician to support site operations and escort outside contractors working onsite. This role offers a 9/80 schedule and a focus on safety and reliability.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, repairs, equipment installations, and adherence to building codes. U.S. Citizenship is required; on-site work with opportunities for growth in facilities operations.

Qualifications

• High school or trade school diploma; license in specific specialty preferred with 0+ years of experience.
• Working knowledge of building codes, OSHA requirements, and knowledge of safe working techniques and procedures.
• Moderate knowledge of building maintenance.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

• Set up, maintain and/or repair equipment and/or systems within the facility within area of expertise.
• Follow maintenance schedule to ensure regular and preventive maintenance work assignments are completed as required.
• Perform service calls, repairs, and equipment installations as directed.
• Perform troubleshooting, diagnostic evaluations, and routine inspections on physical plant systems and equipment as required.
• Maintain an inventory of parts and tools, and keep assigned storage areas clean and organized.
• Follow company and departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines in daily work routines and assignments.
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Complete appropriate paperwork in a proper manner for the purchase, stocking, and/or use of all materials, parts, and components required for work order completion.

Job Summary

This is a newly created entry level facilities position due to company growth. In addition to facilities work, this individual will escort outside contractors doing work onsite.

Job Responsibilities

Qualifications

• High school or trade school diploma; prefer license in specific specialty with a minimum of 0+ years of experience
• Working knowledge of building codes, OSHA requirements, and knowledge of safe working techniques and procedures
• Moderate knowledge of building maintenance
• Good oral and written communication skills

The salary range for this position is $45,112-$64,511. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate’s qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
