Job summary

Leonardo DRS is seeking a Manufacturing Technician for 1st shift in Fitchburg, MA. You will assemble motors, electric machines, and internal components, perform tests, and ensure high quality under a 9/80 schedule (hours: 5:00 AM - 2:30 PM).

Responsibilities include mechanical assembly, following drawings and specs, rework, testing, and collaborating with teams to meet production deadlines while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills.
  • Ability to pass DOT physical exam required.

  • Interpret and work from standard assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications, and running sheets, often of intermediate to significant complexity.
  • Follow established procedures for reworking components to meet quality control specifications.
  • Conduct testing, inspection, and repair of mechanical assemblies.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and provide guidance to other technicians when needed.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team and contribute to various manufacturing processes.
  • Adhere to written documents, including SOPs, safety guidelines, and work instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Interface with other departments to ensure efficient flow of materials and information.

Job Summary

We're growing! We're looking for skilled and motivated Manufacturing Technicians to join our 1st shift team. In this full-time role, you will play a crucial part in assembling motors, electric machines, and a variety of internal components, including piping, alignments, wiring, and conducting essential tests to ensure highest level of quality. 9/80 Work Schedule; Hours: 5:00 AM - 2:30 PM.

Job Responsibilities

The salary range for this position is $45,112-$64,511. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate’s qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
