Job summary

Behavioral Health Network, Inc. is seeking a Facilities Technician II to join our Western Massachusetts facilities team. You will perform hands-on maintenance, repairs, and preventive work across BHN facilities, ensuring safe, reliable operations and code compliance.

The role requires strong carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC skills, five years of experience, and OSHA 10 certification. You will coordinate projects, manage work orders, and support after-hours needs in a mission-driven

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least five years of facilities maintenance or related experience.
  • OSHA 10 certification required.
  • Knowledge of facility systems, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
  • Ability to document work orders and inspections clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair across BHN facilities.
  • Complete carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and building projects.
  • Conduct preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on equipment and systems.
  • Manage work orders in the CMMS and document actions taken.
  • Inspect facilities and equipment; report and prioritize corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with leadership to order materials and schedule projects.
  • Monitor building management, life-safety, and emergency systems; escalate issues as needed.
  • Liaise with contractors and vendors to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Follow safety procedures and regulatory codes; report unsafe conditions.
  • Support after-hours building needs and participate in ongoing training.

What You Will Do:
  • Perform advanced hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and operational support across BHN facilities to help keep buildings, systems, and equipment safe, reliable, and code-compliant.
  • Complete carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building projects, repairs, and improvements across interior and exterior spaces.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on critical and non-critical mechanical and electrical equipment, controls, and installed systems.
  • Receive, complete, and close work orders through the computerized maintenance management system, accurately documenting labor, materials, findings, and corrective actions.
  • Conduct facility and equipment inspections, identify conditions that may affect operations or programs, prepare summary reports, and recommend corrective actions and priorities.
  • Coordinate with Facilities leadership to identify and order materials and support managers and directors with project planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution.
  • Monitor and understand building-management, fire and life-safety, emergency, and other facility systems; troubleshoot concerns and elevate issues appropriately.
  • Build productive relationships with contractors and vendors, coordinate site access and work activities, and help ensure compliance with BHN safety and site requirements.
  • Follow all safety and security procedures, manufacturer guidance, and applicable city, county, and state codes; identify and promptly report unsafe conditions.
  • Support the secure archiving of sensitive records, respond to after-hours building needs, participate in required training and professional development, and perform other duties assigned by Facilities leadership.
Who You Are:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least five years of facilities maintenance, building operations, or related experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of facility systems, preventive maintenance, building repairs, equipment operation, and project coordination.
  • Demonstrated hands‑on skill in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical and electrical equipment, controls, and systematic troubleshooting.
  • OSHA 10 certification required.
  • Knowledge of facility safety standards, applicable regulations and codes, fire and evacuation procedures, equipment handling, and equipment‑failure response.
  • Ability to use computerized maintenance-management, building-management, work‑order, communication, and standard computer systems and maintain clear, accurate documentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, judgment, organization, communication, collaboration, and customer‑service skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Valid driver's license and a reliable, properly registered and inspected vehicle available during all working hours required.
  • Ability to serve as essential staff, respond to after‑hours facility needs, and meet the physical requirements of the role, including prolonged standing and walking and lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
