Job summary

Denver Public Schools is hiring a CREW LEAD II to monitor and coordinate facility cleanliness, safety and maintenance. You will lead, motivate, mentor and guide others toward operational goals in a school district setting.

Competitive starting hourly rate of $22.64 per hour plus total rewards such as time off, health benefits and PERA Retirement. Applicants must be able to respond 24/7, weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of experience preferred.
• Pass a reading test administered by Denver Public Schools.
• Complete a paid housekeeping course (20 hours over 5 days).
• Previous leadership experience preferred.
• Must be available 24/7 for emergencies and weekends/holidays.
• Live in Colorado and meet physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Service, sanitize, clean and supply facility and grounds including restrooms, drinking fountains, floors.
• Remove graffiti and repaint with protective coating.
• Follow procedures for chemical and power equipment use to prevent damage or injury.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines and systems.
• May perform pool repair and monitor District swimming pools; check gauges and adjust water chemistry.
• Inspect, install and repair pool equipment and plumbing systems.
• Diagnose problems and escalate to ensure a positive experience.
• Identify process inefficiencies and propose improvements.
• Check security and safety by locking doors/windows/gates; report unsafe conditions.
