Job summary

The New York City Housing Development Corporation (HDC) is hiring a Facilities Systems Technician to maintain and service HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems within its office facilities. The role reports to the Chief of Office & Facilities Management and requires safety-focused, hands-on maintenance expertise in a professional office setting.

Responsibilities include inspections, preventative maintenance, coordinating repairs with vendors, and ensuring compliance with all regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years of experience providing support in a professional office setting.
• Strong understanding and experience in the design, operation, and maintenance of building systems including HVAC, electrical and plumbing.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs to keep facilities running smoothly.
• Service HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems and identify issues before failure.
• Coordinate with vendors and maintenance teams to ensure safe, cost-effective work.
• Maintain knowledge of Building Management System (BMS) and related software.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with regulations and safety standards.
