Job summary

The Scion Group is seeking a Facilities Supervisor for University Edge in Lansing, MI. You will lead the onsite maintenance team to ensure safety, reliability, and high-quality service across all building systems, while coordinating with third-party vendors and the General Manager to meet property standards.

You will drive preventive maintenance programs, manage budgets, and oversee life-safety systems, with responsibilities spanning from HVAC and electrical to equipment, doors, and roofing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED, trade school diploma, or military training.
• 5 years of relevant experience managing building systems in multi-unit residential properties, 2 years of supervisory experience.
• 2 years’ experience with building automation systems, and life safety systems.
• EPA 608 Universal certification.
• HVAC/EPA 608 Universal certification.
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO), or intention to obtain within six months.
• Expertise in plumbing, HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems as well as generally accepted maintenance practices.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as design drawings, blueprints, safety guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities and meet deadlines.
• Basic computer working knowledge, including Microsoft Office and CMMS.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to stand 8 hours or longer per day and lift up to 100 lbs. as necessary.
• Job location is at the assigned property. May be required to travel periodically.
• Serves in an “on-call” capacity, except during approved PTO periods.

Responsibilities

• Manage all building services and preventative maintenance programs.
• Supervise day-to-day operations including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and general maintenance.
• Operate and manage life safety systems including fire pumps and alarms.
• Prioritize and schedule maintenance work to Scion standards.
• Manage Facilities Technicians and ensure service requests are documented.
• Manage facilities budgets and use appropriate software.
• Review completed work for conformance to standards.
• Ensure timely emergency and routine maintenance/repairs.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for bids and work.
• Oversee Turn preparations and inspect vacated units for readiness.
