Job Description

The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for creating an engaging environment for guests and team members. This role oversees daily operations of the Engineering department during assigned shifts, including training, promoting, and retaining a skilled workforce to perform maintenance and construction duties safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

  • Provide exceptional customer service, positively influencing interactions with guests and employees, and handle difficult situations with resilience.
  • Train, motivate, evaluate, and manage staff to ensure they have the guidance and resources needed to meet objectives.
  • Monitor overtime, emergency callbacks, and ensure proper staffing.
  • Support mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and finishing trades through delegation and hands-on involvement.
  • Conduct inspections of installations, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
  • Develop strategies to enhance system performance and reliability, and contribute to long-term capital planning.
  • Manage inventory of parts and supplies to maintain necessary stock levels without excess.
  • Participate in planning facility expansions and modifications to meet engineering requirements.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance through inspections, data collection, and reporting to agencies.
  • Address utility and equipment issues proactively to prevent violations and ensure safety.
  • Handle hazardous chemicals and waste according to regulations, including spill response.
  • Work in varied environments, exposed to weather, noise, smoke, and hazards, requiring appropriate safety measures and physical agility.
  • Inspect all facility areas, including attics and basements, requiring climbing and reaching.
  • Operate all necessary tools and equipment, maintaining flexibility in work hours and shifts.
Qualifications

Typically, candidates possess a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Environmental Management, coupled with at least five years of engineering supervisory experience, or a minimum of eight years of progressive engineering experience with supervisory roles. A journeyman or master trade in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing fields is preferred.

  • Strong problem-solving, mediation, coaching, and consulting skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in HotSOS, Coupa (P2P), and Microsoft Office
  • High confidentiality and professionalism
  • Ability to work proactively, strategically, and collaboratively across organizational levels
  • Skilled in trade-specific tools and testing equipment
  • Must obtain and maintain relevant licenses and certifications as per regulations
