Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for developing an environment that creates excitement for both guests and team members. They oversee the day-to-day activities of the Engineering department on an assigned shift, as well as training, promoting, and retaining a highly skilled workforce to complete maintenance and construction duties safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

• Provides superior customer service, positively affecting interactions with customers and employees, and maintains resilience when dealing with difficult customers in all types of business conditions.
• Trains, motivates, evaluates, and manages staff to ensure they receive adequate guidance and resources to achieve objectives.
• Monitors all scheduled and unscheduled overtime and emergency callbacks.
• Provides primary and specialized support for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and finished trades systems through delegation and hands-on performance.
• Conducts inspections related to new installations, preventative maintenance, and repairs of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Designs and develops strategies to enhance system performance, capability, and reliability, and assists in long-term capital planning.
• Monitors inventory of parts and supplies to maintain adequate stock without excess or obsolescence.
• Participates in planning facility expansions and modifications to meet engineering requirements.
• Collects data and prepares reports for regulatory compliance through inspections and scientific testing.
• Inspects utilities and equipment, taking corrective actions to minimize violations during OSHA safety inspections.
• Provides expertise, direction, labor, and equipment resources, including managing hazardous chemicals and spill cleanup procedures in compliance with regulations.
• Works in environments with varying temperatures, noise, smoke, chemicals, and hazards, including working outdoors and around extreme heat in boiler rooms.
• Inspects all areas of the facility, including attics and basements, which requires climbing, crawling, and reaching.
• Uses all necessary equipment, including hand and power tools and testing instruments.
• Works flexible shifts and schedules as needed.

Qualifications

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Environmental Management, along with at least five years of supervisory engineering experience, or a minimum of eight years of progressive engineering experience in a similar operation with supervisory roles. Additional skills include:

• Strong problem-solving, mediation, coaching, and consulting skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in HotSOS, Coupa (P2P), and Microsoft Office
• High confidentiality and professionalism
• Ability to maintain high energy and a proactive approach to team relations
• Effective communication across organizational levels
• Journeyman or master trade certification in mechanical, plumbing, or related fields
• Skilled in using maintenance tools and understanding electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry systems
• Ability to obtain and maintain all required licenses and certifications per regulations
