Job summary

PBS Facility Service in Bronx, NY is seeking a Superintendent to manage day-to-day building maintenance and ensure all systems operate safely and efficiently. You will create schedules, checklists, and preventative maintenance plans, track work orders, and supervise contractors while upholding safety and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving skills with hands-on repair abilities.
• Ability to perform basic electrical, plumbing and mechanical work.
• Proficient in painting, plastering, carpentry and drywall tasks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail oriented with solid scheduling capabilities.
• Skillful and safe use of tools; knowledge of safety standards.
• Familiarity with building codes and safety regulations (FDNY-related).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift heavy items.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day building maintenance and inspections.
• Create and implement preventative maintenance schedules and checklists.
• Ensure all work orders are completed or updated with notes.
• Maintain interior/exterior upkeep including safety and cleanliness.
• Keep logs for compliance, safety, and inspections (sprinkler, extinguishers, elevators).
• Monitor inventory and prepare purchase orders for tools and supplies.
• Coordinate with property manager and contractors as needed.
• Maintain safe working environment and enforce site rules.
