Job summary

Oakwood Village is seeking an Facilities Services Technician for AM shift (Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM) with weekend rotation. You will perform routine building maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, HVAC and general repairs to support resident safety and comfort.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, ability to work with minimal supervision, and willingness to respond to 24-hour emergencies. Reports to Facilities Services Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Experience in a facilities technician, maintenance or similar position.
• Experience in technical and mechanical problem solving.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; attention to detail, prioritization, organization and multi-tasking.

Responsibilities

• Inspects buildings and systems to determine repairs.
• Performs minor electrical maintenance: fixtures, switches, outlets, bulbs, etc.
• Performs minor plumbing maintenance: leaks, faucets, toilets.
• Performs minor painting, carpentry and masonry work.
• Install, repair and replace appliances.
• Move and arrange furniture for residents and staff.
• Repair and maintain metal and wood doors, locks and closures.
• Maintain life safety systems and respond to emergencies.
