Job summary

Adams County is seeking a Facilities Security & Emergency Administrator to oversee security, fire/life/safety, and emergency planning across county facilities. You will coordinate with local, state, and federal partners to ensure regulatory compliance and protect employees, visitors, and assets.

The role includes directing security operations, managing budgets, supervising contract and proprietary staff, and developing response plans for threats, evacuations, and disasters, including after-hours

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field, with years of experience substitutable per policy.
• Extended experience in security operations and emergency management is preferred.
• Knowledge of NFPA, OSHA, and public safety regulations is essential.

Responsibilities

• Administer and oversee security operations for all county facilities, including contractor oversight and policy development.
• Coordinate emergency response strategies across fire, medical, active threat, and natural disasters.
• Lead investigations, threat assessments, and liaison with local, state, and federal agencies.
• Develop and implement safety and life-safety protocols and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Act as Incident Command Lead during emergencies and coordinate with county emergency management.
• Maintain documentation, conduct audits, and oversee training and drills.
