Job summary

Archdiocese of Detroit is seeking a Full Time Facility Maintenance position to support parish facilities, covering maintenance, security, and grounds tasks with a 8:00 am to 4:00 pm schedule, reporting to the Director of Maintenance. You will perform daily inspections, coordinate with staff and volunteers, handle basic repairs and ensure safety for the building and surrounding grounds.

The role requires confidentiality, a valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and passing background

Qualifications

• Ability to honor and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to self-motivate, manage responsibilities and work independently.
• Valid Driver's license.
• Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to effectively communicate and work with staff and volunteers.
• Must pass background check and complete 'Protecting God's Children' workshop.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and clutter-free facility.
• Inspect facility daily and address issues needing attention.
• Assist in the orientation of new employees and volunteers to the facility and its use.
• Perform light grounds keeping as needed.
• Ensure proper functioning of air conditioning, heating, lights, doors, locks, etc.
• Check all areas of the facility, parking lots and grounds.
• Become aware of and communicate procedures for using the facility and resources.
• Engage in preventive maintenance and cleaning of facilities as time allows.
• Undertake maintenance repairs, semi-skilled carpentry, plumbing, electrical and other repair work as directed by leadership.
