Job summary

St. Joseph Catholic Church is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the safe, efficient operation of church buildings, equipment, and grounds.

The role performs preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and basic custodial tasks to keep the environment welcoming for staff, visitors, and the community. You will handle general maintenance, troubleshoot facility issues, maintain safety inspections, document activities, and assist with event setup and groundskeeping.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED acceptable to Texas Education Agency.
• Two years of related full experience.
• Experience in electrical, plumbing, HVAC or carpentry.

Responsibilities

• General Maintenance & Repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical repairs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve facility issues promptly.
• Complete safety and functionality inspections of buildings, equipment, and systems.
• Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of fixtures, furniture, and appliances.
• Execute preventive maintenance schedules on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Document all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in maintenance areas and storage spaces.
• Support groundskeeping tasks and general outdoor upkeep.
• Assist with event setup, teardown and facility needs as required.
