Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of a high school education or its equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in maintenance/plant.
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators and various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
• Must be licensed in accordance with current standards, codes, labor laws, etc.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain maintenance policies and procedures.
• Plan and direct the Maintenance Department and its programs.
• Coordinate maintenance services with other departments (Dietary, Nursing, Activities, etc.).
• Supervise safety and fire prevention programs and inspect areas weekly.
• Inspect storage rooms and work areas for upkeep and supply control.
• Participate in facility surveys and provide plans of correction.
• Ensure outside vendors' work complies with contracts and work orders.
• Maintain MSDSs for hazardous chemicals and proper labeling.
• Monitor budgets and assist in preparing the Maintenance Department’s budget.
• Make rounds to ensure tasks are performed and equipment is operational.
