Job summary

St. Gregory Recovery Center in Bayard, Iowa, seeks a Director of Plant Operations to manage two facilities and lead safety, maintenance and emergency programs onsite.

The role oversees physical environments, equipment, and compliance with regulatory standards while coordinating with leadership to allocate resources. The position requires 5+ years in maintenance/operations, a business or technical degree, and licensure in relevant trades; CHFM is a plus.

Qualifications

• Five or more years’ experience in maintenance or facility operations required; health care facility preferred.
• Certification/licensure in trade such as electrical, plumbing or HVAC preferred.
• Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) certification will be a plus.
• CPR/First aid training may be required; state driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance of facility and ensure OSHA/EPA and other regulatory standards are met.
• Supervise building maintenance incl. plumbing, carpentry, roofing and minor repairs.
• Lead safety and emergency management programs, including drills and incident reporting.
• Plan maintenance budget; manage outside vendors and contractors.
• Coordinate with leadership to prioritize issues and ensure timely, safe, and cost-effective operations.
