Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a full-time General Helper-Repairer (Abington) to join the facilities team. Responsibilities include cleaning, routine maintenance on heating, electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and moving equipment within residence halls. A valid driver’s license and 9–12 months of effective experience are required, with background checks performed in accordance with policy.

Work hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with Saturdays and Sundays off.

Qualifications

• 9 to 12 months of effective experience required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle required.
• Background checks per university policy will be completed.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, buff, and clean buildings and storerooms.
• Inspect and perform minor maintenance on heating equipment and valves on radiators.
• Perform routine electrical maintenance including light fixtures, ballasts, starters, and emergency lights.
• Interior maintenance painting and minor carpentry work such as locks and doors.
