Job summary

Penn State University is seeking a full-time Maintenance Worker Utility (Berks) - Grade 9 to join the campus facilities team. The role involves operating scrubbing, buffing and shampooing equipment, cleaning floors, moving furniture, and assisting in event setups across campus locations.

Applicants should have basic reading/writing and arithmetic, up to 3 months of experience, and a valid driver’s license with motor vehicle records check.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and perform basic arithmetic.
• Up to 3 months of effective experience.
• Valid driver’s license and motor vehicle records check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate scrubbing, buffing, and shampooing equipment and hand tools.
• Sweep, scrub, seal, wax, and shampoo floors and furniture.
• Replace bulbs, tubes, starters, shades, blinds and window components as needed.
• Remove waste and debris from buildings and keep areas clean and orderly.
• Move furniture, equipment, and materials; unload and relocate as required.
• Wash windows, walls, ceilings and light fixtures; assist in event setups.
• Operate a vehicle to transport materials between sites.
• Assist in snow removal and applying de-icer materials.
