Job summary

Penn State is seeking a full-time Maintenance Worker Utility (Berks) - Grade 9 to join the team. The role focuses on custodial tasks, operating scrubbing, buffing, and shampooing equipment, and performing floor care, light maintenance, and setup for campus events. You will move furniture and equipment, transport materials between sites, and support safety and cleanliness standards.

The shift runs 4:00 p.m.–12:30 a.m. with Saturdays and Sundays off.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, add and subtract.
• Up to 3 months of effective experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Operate scrubbing, buffing and shampooing equipment and hand tools as required.
• Sweep, scrub, seal, wax and shampoo floors and furniture.
• Remove and replace bulbs, tubes, shades, blinds, screens, and other fixtures.
• Move and relocate furniture, equipment and materials; unload and transport items between sites.
• Wash windows and surfaces; assist in setup/cleanup of events around campus.
