Job summary

Abbott is hiring a Maintenance Recycling Process Specialist II to operate BioSAFE/STI equipment, transport materials via a 26’ truck, and support maintenance and safety tasks at our Madison site. The role includes work order entry, inspections, and adherence to GMP/OSHA/FDA/USDA standards.

The position requires forklift cert within 90 days, 2+ years in facilities roles, and ability to lift heavy loads. Night/weekend work may be required and travel to local Abbott locations may occur.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience in facilities or maintenance roles.
• Ability to read safety and maintenance documents.
• Forklift certification within 90 days of hire date and maintain it.
• Experience driving vehicles larger than 15ft and up to 26 ft with air brakes.
• Basic computer skills for entering work orders and documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team and independently.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Process recyclable materials using BioSAFE or STI machine.
• Transport materials using a 26’ straight truck to designated locations.
• Assist with planned maintenance and repairs of facility systems.
• Enter and complete work orders in the database.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly building inspections.
• Support lab teams by delivering materials to internal locations.
• Ensure safety procedures and regulatory compliance (GMP, OSHA, FDA, USDA).
