Job summary

Abbott in Madison, WI seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform general repairs and preventive maintenance on facility systems including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and control systems across GMP and Clinical locations. The role supports process improvements and may back up senior technicians, with a Sunday-Wednesday night shift (10:00 pm - 8:30 am) and a $2K sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in electrical or mechanical maintenance-related field; or high school diploma or GED with 2 years of experience in lieu of Associates degree.
• 4+ years of experience working in a building maintenance, construction, or mechanical repair setting.
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, compressed air, and other related facility systems.
• Ability to read, interpret and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, procedure manuals and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Communicate facility and safety related issues to coordinate with Facilities Management and vendors.
• Enter, prioritize and complete work orders in the CMMS system.
• Perform preventive and demand maintenance tasks with proper documentation.
• Conduct building inspections and respond to outages or alarms.
