Job summary

The University of Minnesota in Minneapolis is seeking a Facilities Support Manager in Housing and Residential Life to oversee the service level agreement between Facilities Management and HRL and to manage furniture, fixtures and equipment across 12 residential buildings.

The role requires in-person work, a BA/BS with significant experience in building maintenance and custodial management, and the ability to coordinate with multiple university stakeholders, vendors and contractors.

Qualifications

• Requires BA/BS with at least 5 years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal nine years of experience in general maintenance/custodial management and knowledge of principles, practices and techniques of a variety of building trades.
• A criminal background check is required.
• Experience in a large University/College community preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the service level agreement between Facilities Management and Housing and Residential Life; monitor SLAs, assess conditions, and address requests.
• Lead regular building walkthroughs and inspections to ensure custodial/maintenance standards meet SLA expectations.
• Coordinate transitions during academic breaks and summer workflows with HRL and Facilities Management.
• Develop and facilitate facilities-related training for HRL staff and act in lieu of the Director of Housing Facilities when necessary.
• Lead the procurement and records management for furniture, fixtures and equipment; manage vendor relationships and asset inventory.
