Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Contract Project Manager to support our campus Facilities/Asset Management team. You will oversee maintenance and renovation projects from cradle to grave, with scopes from $500K to several million, including permitting, bidding, and execution.

This owner’s representative role coordinates with AE firms, internal permitting teams, construction managers, and contractors to keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications

  • PM experience within construction, facilities, architecture, GC, subcontractor, or owner’s rep environments
  • Experience overseeing projects from start to finish, including coordination, permitting, bidding, construction execution, and closeout
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once, ideally 10–12 smaller/medium-sized projects
  • Experience with RFIs, submittals, scheduling, budgets, and project documentation
  • Strong communication skills coordinating with AE firms, contractors, internal teams, and end users
  • Ability to work independently and be solutions-oriented
  • Comfortable learning new project management tools and software

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Fairfax campus daily and sit in the Administration Building area.
  • Oversee multiple active maintenance/renovation projects from cradle to grave.
  • Move projects through permitting, bidding, contractor engagement, and execution.
  • Coordinate with AE firms, internal permitting teams, construction managers, and end users to keep projects on track.
  • Oversee RFIs, submittals, schedules, budgets, and overall project progress.
  • Act as the owner’s representative to remove roadblocks for contractors and internal teams.
  • Kick off projects, hold coordination meetings, and ensure daily access to work areas.

Job description

Duration: Long-term contract, likely 1-2 years

Pay Rate: $65/hr-$70/hr

Schedule: M-F, 8 hours/day. Flexible start time, but construction starts earlier, so 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM is ideal

Job Description

Insight Global is hiring a Contract Project Manager to support our clients campus Facilities/Asset Management team. This person will oversee multiple major maintenance and renovation projects from cradle to grave. Projects can range from $500K to several million dollars and may include mechanical system replacements, roof replacements, elevator replacements, electrical system replacements, building envelope/sealing work, and other facility improvement projects.

This is not a new construction or self-perform role. This person will act as an owner’s representative, helping move projects through permitting, bidding, contractor engagement, and execution. They will work with AE firms, internal permitting teams, construction managers, contractors, and end users to make sure projects stay on track.

Must Haves
  • Project Management experience within construction, facilities, architecture, engineering, GC, subcontractor, or owner’s rep environments
  • Experience overseeing projects from start to finish, including coordination, permitting, bidding, construction execution, and closeout
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once, ideally 10-12 smaller/medium-sized projects at a time
  • Experience with RFI’s, submittals, scheduling, budgets, and project documentation
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with AE firms, contractors, internal teams, and end users
  • Ability to work independently and be solutions-oriented
  • Computer/software skills and ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Experience with software such as Trimble, eBuilder, Procore, P6, and Excel, or similar construction/project management tools
  • Comfortable being in both an office/cubicle setting and walking active project sites
Nice to Haves
  • Architectural background or experience working with architectural firms
  • Facilities, higher education, campus, or public sector project experience
  • Experience with major maintenance or renovation projects
  • Experience supporting mechanical, electrical, elevator, roofing, or building systems projects
Day to Day
  • Report to the Fairfax campus daily and sit in the Administration Building
  • Support projects across campuses as needed
  • Help move projects through site visits, AE coordination, internal permitting, bidding, contractor engagement, and execution
  • Oversee RFI’s, submittals, schedules, budgets, and overall project progress
  • Act as the owner’s rep and help remove roadblocks for contractors and internal teams
  • Coordinate with Construction Field Reps, construction managers, contractors, AE firms, and end users
  • Help kick off projects, hold OAC/OEC meetings, and make sure contractors are able to access the work areas each day
  • Oversee multiple active maintenance/renovation projects at once
Ideal Background
  • Someone coming from an architectural firm, GC, subcontractor, facilities, or owner’s rep background
  • Does not need to be a designer, but should understand the construction/design process
  • Someone who can transition into an owner’s rep seat and oversee the work without directly managing subcontractors
  • Someone who is autonomous, self-sufficient, and comfortable juggling multiple projects
