Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Facility Engineering Manager to lead the planning and execution of multiple concurrent projects within commercial and government facilities environments. This role requires the ability to manage a high-volume, fast‑paced project portfolio, while maintaining exceptional standards for safety, quality, customer communication, schedule, and financial performance.

The successful candidate will manage 20–40 simultaneous small to mid‑sized projects and miscellaneous procurements, serving as the primary point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders, driving successful project outcomes while identifying opportunities to expand customer relationships and program growth.

  • Manage multiple concurrent projects from initiation through closeout, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, execution, and documentation.
  • Implement industry‑standard project management practices, including schedules, lookahead planning, RFIs, submittals, change management, and closeout documentation.
  • Lead project kick‑off meetings and routine project reviews with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate vendors, subcontractors, procurement activities, and site access requirements to maintain schedule and quality.
  • Monitor project costs against approved budgets and provide regular financial reporting and forecasts.
  • Proactively identify, mitigate, and manage risks related to safety, schedule, cost, and operational impacts; provide regular communication to management on status and risk.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, in compliance with contract requirements, and to defined quality standards.
  • Create cost estimates and project proposals utilizing GSA scheduled rates.
  • Create project schedules using Microsoft Project or similar tools; track and report progress.
  • Maintain ownership and awareness of all projects and tasks in your portfolio across all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Implement processes and tools to ensure an efficient flow from project initiation through closeout.
Leadership
  • The Facility Engineering Manager will provide direct leadership to one or more Project Engineers who support all phases of project planning, execution, and closeout.
  • Actively train and develop junior staff by sharing best practices, standard processes, and lessons learned.
  • Provide meaningful opportunities for professional growth through mentorship, structured development, and increased responsibility over time.
  • Foster a collaborative, high‑performing team environment by coaching, guiding, and leading by example.
Customer Communication & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the central point of contact for customers, providing proactive, transparent, and professional communication.
  • Anticipate customer questions and concerns and provide timely updates that minimize surprises.
  • Clearly communicate dependencies, required customer actions, schedule impacts, and change drivers.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with facility stakeholders, tenants, and operations teams.
Safety & Quality Oversight
  • Foster a culture of safety and ensure compliance with site safety requirements, including LOTO and risk mitigation planning.
  • Ensure installations are properly inspected prior to close‑in and final acceptance.
  • Minimize rework, return visits, and operational disruption to occupied facilities.
Business Growth & Program Support
  • Identify opportunities to support additional projects, task orders, or program expansion.
  • Support customer development by offering solutions, recommendations, and a clear path forward.
  • Contribute to recapitalization planning, scope development, and rough order‑of‑magnitude cost estimates when applicable.
Security Clearance Requirement

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information. Ability to obtain & maintain HSPD & Top‑Secret; preferred HSPD‑12 & Top‑Secret Active.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED with 12+ years of experience.
  • Strong understanding of building infrastructure, specifically HVAC/Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems.
  • Experience managing multiple simultaneous small‑to‑mid‑sized construction projects, preferably 20–40 concurrent small to mid‑sized projects and miscellaneous procurements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project scope, schedule, cost, and risk in an occupied facilities environment.
  • Expert customer communication skills, including the ability to provide proactive, clear, and realistic updates.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven ability to coordinate internal teams, vendors, and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated record of delivering successful projects on time and within budget.
  • Working knowledge of building codes and regulations.
  • Supervisory experience, managing employee performance, training, and career growth.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience managing projects for GSA or other U.S. Government agencies.
  • Active or recent TS/SCI Clearance.
  • Financial or business management experience.
  • Experience working in IDIQ, task order‑based, or high‑volume facilities programs.
  • PMP certification or demonstrated alignment with PMI project management practices.
  • Proven history of supporting customer development, business growth, or increased program performance.

Pay Range: USD $125,120.00 – USD $160,000.00 per year.
