Job description

Job Title: Facilities Project Inspector

The primary purpose of the Facilities Project Inspector position is to provide quality control and inspection expertise for Facilities Management projects, focusing on architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems. The inspector ensures that materials and equipment in any phase of manufacture, shop or field fabrication, delivery, or installation comply with contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for compliance with contract provisions and quality standards.
• Review plans and specifications for errors, omissions, and conflicts; refer issues to the Architect, Engineer, or Project Manager.
• Ensure materials conform to specifications and approved shop drawings; oversee removal of non-compliant materials.
• Plan and oversee required tests; ensure proper alignment and balancing, and correct deficiencies.
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports and test records.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and MD Anderson representatives to resolve issues.
• Participate in overhead and beneficial occupancy inspections.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Sciences, or related field; three years of project management/construction management experience or ten years in the related construction trade, including one year of supervisory experience. Equivalent experience may substitute for education on a one-to-one basis.
• Preferred: Journeyman Plumber License.
