Job Location: Telecommuter / Remote / Work from Home (when not inspecting facilities within Missouri).

This role involves functioning as a surveyor/inspector for the Bureau of Hospital Standards, overseeing licensed hospitals to ensure compliance and quality care. You will work remotely when not conducting onsite inspections across Missouri, learning relevant federal and state regulations used during surveys and investigations.

Typical work schedule involves 3-4 days in the field for surveys/inspections, with overnight travel, hotel, meals, and travel expenses paid. The remaining week is dedicated to report writing from your home office. Orientation and training are provided, and you will work as part of a team, with success measured by productivity and integrity.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting onsite surveys to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Investigating complaints and reviewing clinical records.
  • Interviewing staff, patients, and families.
  • Observing patient care and reviewing hospital policies.
  • Serving as a regulatory resource and completing survey reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current Missouri RN license in good standing.
  • At least 5 years hospital experience, with ICU, CCU, or ED preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
