Job summary

FirstService Residential in Boca Raton, FL is seeking a Porter to perform cleaning and maintenance across indoor and outdoor areas of the community. The role includes inspections, reporting to the Supervisor, and a mix of duties from sweeping and mopping to restroom cleaning and floor finishing.

Responsibilities require safe operation of equipment, adherence to OSHA chemical guidelines, strong customer service and communication skills, and the ability to work with building staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial experience preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning/maintenance duties including sweeping, mopping, shampooing, dusting, polishing, trash disposal and window cleaning.
• Informs Supervisor of needed supplies.
• Maintains cleaning solutions per OSHA requirements for hazardous chemicals.
• Removes trash and assists in emergency cleaning.
• Operates new equipment safely and follows procedures.
• Maintains friendly and professional attitude.
• Keeps sanitary and cleaning supplies stocked for assigned areas.
• Inspects assigned areas daily and reports discrepancies.
• Ensures security procedures are followed at all times.
• Maintains relationship with building staff.
• Finishes and burnishes floors as required.
• Completes daily work orders as scheduled.
• Cleans restrooms as applicable (sweeps, mops, refills dispensers, cleans fixtures).
