Job summary

Onni is seeking a Porter to help maintain its properties in Seattle, focusing on cleanliness, safety, and preventive maintenance across common areas and the parking facilities.

You will assist other staff, handle trash, light painting, and basic guest room readiness; a high school diploma and reliability are preferred; Onni offers health benefits, 3 weeks PTO, and free onsite parking or commuting support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Customer service, housekeeping, or janitorial experience preferred.
• Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for cleaning and assisting in preventive maintenance and safety of assigned properties.
• Report and/or initiate action to correct unsafe conditions or damage to apartment and hotel property.
• Perform pressure washing, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and polishing of common areas surfaces.
• Remove trash from common area waste bins and trash rooms and deliver to appropriate receptacles and replaces bin liners when necessary.
• Wash down and clean trash room and trash chutes on a weekly basis.
• Monitor all trash rooms, ensure doors are operating properly and are clean and free of debris daily.
• Monitor, maintain, and clean all areas of parking garage.
• Monitor dog run and pet waste stations. Empty and clean bins and replenish pet waste bags.
• Supply and restock common area amenities such as refrigerators and gym towels.
• Safely operate trash compactors, cardboard baler, dumpster caddy, truck and utility hauling vehicles related to trash program.
• Move trash and recycling bins in and out for scheduled pickups.
• Wipe down and sanitize gym and fitness equipment at regularly scheduled intervals.
• Assist with make readies, trash-outs, cleaning, spiffs, change locks, rekeys, and makes keys for vacant or occupied apartments and guest rooms.
• Maintain awareness of proper safety precautions.
• Ensure that storage areas remain locked when not in use.
• Safeguard all utility meter cut-offs, apartment, and fixture cut-offs, and drain cleanouts.
• Keep dumpster/compactor doors closed and ensure waste is disposed in the correct recycling or waste disposal bin.
• Perform interior and exterior painting duties as assigned.
• Distribute resident communications to residents: e.g., upcoming events, pest control notices, and newsletters.
• Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, state and federal laws: e.g., OSHA, ADA, Fair Housing, etc.
• Maintain and upkeeps exterior lighting on a regular basis.
• Monitor, maintains, and cleans all interior and exterior common areas such as bathrooms, kitchens, walkways, hallways, amenity spaces, parking garage, elevators, and sidewalks
• Perform other duties as required.
