Job summary

Capstone On-Campus Management (COCM) is hiring a Porter at Seattle University, Seattle, WA to maintain interior and exterior areas and assist with minor maintenance tasks. The role reports to the Assistant Director of Operations and offers a competitive hourly wage and a comprehensive benefits package.

The Porter will help keep building common areas clean, assist with snow removal, trash removal, lighting and fixture upkeep, and support the maintenance team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Custodial experience with willingness to learn general maintenance tasks.
• Demonstrate proficiency in verbal communication.
• Possess strong customer service skills.
• Must have troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday during day shift.
• Ability to move and lift to 50lbs and navigate up and down stairs.
• Be able to participate in an after-hours on-call duty rotation and respond to the campus within 40 minutes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of interior and exterior of the building and assist with minor maintenance tasks.
• Assist in maintaining grounds, common areas, and exterior of the building.
• Assist in cleaning snow and debris from sidewalk.
• Assist in removing trash and refuse from the building.
• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools.
• Assist in painting and drywall projects when necessary.
• Replace light bulbs, lamps, and clean fixtures.
• Prepare vacant units for new tenants.
• Assist in performing basic maintenance with the maintenance team.
• Escort and monitor vendors on-site.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and customer concerns.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency call outs.
• Comply with codes and regulations related to building operations.
