Job summary

FirstEnergy, headquartered in Akron, Ohio, is seeking a Building Mechanic to maintain plumbing and related building systems at FE facilities. The role requires onsite work with periodic travel to nearby Canton and Wadsworth locations, emphasizing safety and teamwork to maximize asset life and safe operation.

The candidate will inspect, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing and mechanical systems, read blueprints, and coordinate with contractors.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of commercial/industrial/facilities plumbing experience.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regionally.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Experience with preventive/predictive maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

• Participate in safety programs and promote safe work methods.
• Perform plumbing maintenance and repairs across FE facilities.
• Maintain and repair domestic water, sanitary sewer, and related plumbing systems.
• Diagnose leaks, pressure issues, and valve problems; repair as needed.
• Coordinate with contractors and monitor work quality and safety.
