Job summary

Radford University seeks a Director of Facilities Maintenance & Operations to lead multiple facilities departments and ensure high standards of performance and safety on campus.

The role requires directing a broad team, managing budgets, optimizing energy use, and guiding capital projects with a focus on reliability and service to students, faculty and staff. Some evenings and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent with management education/experience.
• Experience supervising managers, supervisors and diverse teams.
• Experience managing budgets, staffing, and operations.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and conflict-resolution skills.
• Knowledge of building construction and building systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and respond to emergencies on-call 24/7.
• Ability to collaborate with students, faculty and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of Facilities Management departments and shops.
• Direct and lead staff including Assistant Directors, Managers, Supervisors, and Coordinators.
• Prioritize budget and resource management, energy and life-safety functions.
• Oversee infrastructure improvements and long-term planning.
• Manage renovations and improvements to university facilities.
