Job summary

DeKalb County School District seeks a facilities leader to oversee operations, budgets, and maintenance across multiple campuses. You will supervise trades staff, coordinate preventive maintenance, and ensure life-safety compliance district‑wide.

The role requires extensive supervision and project management experience, plus strong communication with school leadership. A focus on optimizing resources and responding to emergencies is essential.

Qualifications

• General knowledge and experience with MEP, life safety and building maintenance best practices.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree from an approved accredited college or university preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years of supervisory level work experience in facilities management preferred.
• Minimum ten (10) years of extensive work experience in technical/professional level facility maintenance preferred.
• ProFM and/or BOC certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises trades personnel and coordinates development training for staff.
• Oversees budgeting, financial processes, and resource allocation meeting Board policies.
• Manages work orders, CMMS documentation, and district-wide preventive maintenance.
• Leads district-wide inspections and ensures life safety readiness.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams on projects and facility-related issues.
• Responds to emergencies and maintains on-call availability 24/7.
• Prepares detailed reports on operations, progress, and planning for leadership.
