Job summary

DeKalb County is seeking a skilled supervisor to provide planning and logistical support to the Superintendent, overseeing multiple crews responsible for construction, maintenance and repair of streets, storm drainage, water and sewer facilities, and solid waste operations.

The role requires strong leadership, scheduling, and cost estimation, with a minimum of a high school diploma and several years of infrastructure experience; a Georgia CDL and related licenses may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; six years of infrastructure construction and maintenance experience.
• Two years in a crew supervisor role or equivalent leadership experience.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, directs, and evaluates staff; manages work schedules and timesheets.
• Organizes and assigns work to crews; ensures resources and safety compliance.
• Plans and coordinates crew activities, service requests, and schedules with contractors.
• Reviews plans, estimates time and costs for materials, and ensures progress reporting.
• Analyzes complex situations, makes decisions, and responds to emergencies.
• Monitors safety on site and handles customer complaints when needed.
