Job summary

DeKalb County School District is seeking an experienced Manager II, Custodial Services to provide district-level leadership for custodial operations across schools and facilities. You will supervise managers and staff, develop standards, manage budgets, and ensure health and safety compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, fiscal management, and analytical skills to support clean, safe, and well-maintained environments aligned with the District's educational mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or higher education equivalent.
• 5+ years in custodial or facilities management, with 3+ years in supervisory roles.
• K12 district experience preferred.
• 12+ years in facilities management or related field may substitute for degree.
• APPA CEFP, ISSA CMI, OSHA 30-Hour or EPA asbestos training preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Custodial Managers and supervisees, including Head Custodians and staff.
• Develop and enforce district-wide custodial standards, staffing, and schedules.
• Conduct facility inspections; analyze outcomes and implement corrective actions.
• Manage custodial budget, supplies, equipment, bids, and vendor contracts.
• Oversee health, safety programs and AHERA/ Hazard Communications compliance.
• Ensure training records, certifications, and staff development.
• Lead custodial emergency response and after-hours support.
• Monitor work orders, performance metrics, and reporting to leadership.
• Coordinate with school administrators and district personnel on custodial services.
