Job summary

The Town of Matthews is seeking a seasoned Facilities Maintenance Manager to oversee the construction, maintenance, and repair of town facilities and systems. You will supervise staff, coordinate contractors, and ensure work aligns with policies and building codes.

Responsibilities include planning preventative maintenance, managing budgets, procuring contracts, and ensuring readiness of building systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Five+ years of professional experience in building maintenance and repair or building trades.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and coordinate maintenance, construction and repair of Town facilities and systems.
• Supervise and train staff across trades and manage performance reviews.
• Direct staff and contractors on renovation projects and capital improvements.
• Plan preventive maintenance and manage building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• Procure and manage contracts, prepare specifications, and obtain bids.
