Job summary

The City of Anaheim Department of Public Works seeks a Facilities Operations Superintendent to lead the Facilities Services Section of the Operations & Maintenance Division. The role focuses on operation, maintenance, repair, inspection, and preservation of City facilities and related infrastructure, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-efficient service.

The successful candidate will guide strategic and daily operations, manage staff, budgets, and outside contractors, and advance service delivery

Qualifications

• Five years of responsible maintenance and construction experience related to the area of assignment, including administrative/lead supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of maintenance operations programs, contract administration, and budget preparation.
• Experience coordinating with multiple departments and outside contractors.
• Familiarity with safety practices and building systems operations.

Responsibilities

• Direct, coordinate, and review the work plan for the assigned section; assign work activities and projects; monitor workflow.
• Participate in personnel selection, staff training, and performance management.
• Develop and administer program budgets; forecast funds for staffing, equipment, and materials.
• Prepare specifications for projects and service contracts; coordinate with Purchasing for contracts and vendors.
• Oversee facility maintenance quality, electrical/HVAC/plant maintenance, and safety compliance.
