Job summary

Hines is seeking an Operations Engineer to operate and maintain building equipment and systems, including HVAC, MEP, and life-safety equipment, ensuring reliable performance and occupant comfort. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot failures, order parts, train apprentices, and maintain logs and procedures while responding to service requests and emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years commercial HVAC experience, rooftop units preferred.
• Interact with employees, visitors, and contractors with poise and diplomacy.
• EPA CFC Universal Certification Technician certificate when applicable or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment.
• Operate, maintain, and repair mechanical, HVAC, MEP, and life-safety systems.
• Troubleshoot operations failures and re-establish building services.
• Order, stock, and inventory parts as directed.
• Assemble and repair office furniture and related components.
• Maintain accurate equipment logs, maintenance records, and procedures.
• Respond to service requests, emergencies, and safety incidents in a timely manner.
• Escort contractors and service personnel while ensuring site safety.
