Job summary

University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business is seeking a Facilities Assistant II to help maintain the Ross complex.

You will assist with daily maintenance, cleaning, and event support, coordinating with the Maintenance Supervisor and partners to keep facilities safe, welcoming, and compliant with safety regulations. The role emphasizes hospitality, teamwork, and service, with a schedule that may include nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• At least 1 year working in a team environment.
• At least 1 year in a maintenance-related role.
• Available to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Ross facilities through minor repairs, painting, equipment assembly, and hanging displays.
• Assist with office moves including relocating and setting up furniture.
• Keep interior and exterior spaces clean and safe.
• Manage repair tickets and coordinate with campus and external partners.
• Perform minor repairs in kitchens, rental properties, and hotel spaces.
• Use ladders, lifts, and power washers as needed.
• Conduct routine inspections for safety and maintenance needs.
• Provide responsive customer service via in-person, phone, and email.
• Document requests and outcomes; build relationships with partners.
• Support event setup and building opening/closing activities.
