Job summary

Saint Mary is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to troubleshoot, install, inspect, operate, maintain, and repair mechanical systems across campus facilities. This full-time, 12-month position involves supporting mechanical equipment, plumbing, electrical systems, fire alarm and suppression systems, ER generating equipment, and other campus infrastructure.

The role requires at least four years of related maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license, and knowledge of several systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of four (4) years of related maintenance or mechanical work experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems.
• Knowledge of fire alarm and suppression systems.
• Knowledge of plumbing systems and equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical equipment and controls.
• Basic computer and email skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Ability to safely use tools, equipment, and PPE.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance as directed.
• Troubleshoot mechanical devices and equipment, including pumps, engines, motors, conveyors.
• Observe equipment operation and diagnose malfunctions.
• Dismantle and repair components, reassemble for proper operation.
• Lubricate, clean, and adjust mechanical equipment.
• Install and maintain equipment and components to ensure proper operation.
• Maintenance on emergency generating equipment and electrical control systems.
• Conduct routine rounds of mechanical rooms to identify maintenance needs.
• Support other maintenance trades with repairs and installations.
• Maintain inventory of parts and materials.
