Job summary

Saint Mary's College is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to troubleshoot, install, inspect, operate, maintain, and repair mechanical systems across campus infrastructure. You will support electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, and emergency generator equipment while coordinating with other trades.

The role requires independent work and collaboration with a cross-functional team. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and at least four years of related maintenance or mechanical experience,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of four years of related maintenance or mechanical work experience is required.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems required.
• Knowledge of fire alarm and suppression systems preferred.
• Knowledge of plumbing systems and equipment beneficial.
• Knowledge of electrical equipment and controls beneficial.
• Basic computer and email skills required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance as directed or required.
• Troubleshoot mechanical devices and equipment, including pumps, engines, motors, conveyors, and related equipment.
• Identify malfunctions using sound, visual, and diagnostic methods.
• Dismantle equipment, replace or repair parts, and reassemble for proper operation.
• Lubricate, clean, adjust, and maintain mechanical equipment and components.
• Install, adjust, and maintain equipment and components for proper operation.
• Maintain and repair emergency generating equipment and electrical control systems.
