Job summary

University of Missouri is seeking a Building Maintenance Mechanic to inspect, maintain, repair, and install building systems and equipment across university facilities. The role covers plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, and general maintenance, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, project support, inventory management, and ensuring reliable facility operations. Shift is 8AM-5PM, Monday-Friday, with benefits included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Four years of general building maintenance experience including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and related systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret diagrams.
• A valid driver’s license may be required for certain positions.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on building systems and infrastructure.
• Repair and maintain plumbing systems including domestic water, sewer, drains, water softeners, restroom facilities, water coolers, faucets, fixtures, and associated equipment.
• Install, modify, and repair plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, and related building systems.
• Identify replacement parts and materials required for maintenance and repair activities; assist with inventory management and procurement.
• Safely operate, maintain, and store tools and equipment; adhere to safety procedures and PPE usage.
