Job summary

Orange & Rockland Utilities, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic B L1-2 for our Facilities Operation & Maint TLC team. The role requires reading schematics, mechanical and electrical work, and performing building maintenance in our Astoria-area facilities.

The position demands physical work, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, and operate in outdoor weather. Proficiency with Maximo for time reporting and work orders is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a HS Diploma or GED.
• 3–5 years building trades experience; ability to read schematics and engineering prints.
• Electrical & mechanical experience required; EPA universal cert a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces.
• Work at elevations in outdoor weather conditions.
• Walk, stand, lift, and bend for extended periods.
• Maintain buildings and use basic hand/power tools.
• Perform basic lighting, wiring, plumbing, carpentry tasks.
• Troubleshoot HVAC systems and mechanical equipment.
• Operate time reporting and work order systems (Maximo).
• Support operation and maintenance of facilities and related spaces.
