Job summary

Stony Brook University Hospital is seeking a Facilities Materials Manager to oversee purchasing, procurement, and contract administration for Hospital Facilities and Construction. You will authorize expenditures, monitor contracts, and ensure state compliance while tracking material usage from inception to closeout.

The role supervises staff, coordinates with Receiving, Accounts Payable, and related departments, and supports sustainability goals.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; verification of degree needed.
• At least 5 years in purchasing, procurement, contract administration, materials management, or related function; strong state procurement knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee division purchasing and authorize expenditures across cost centers.
• Coordinate contract development with Purchasing Department and PMO for contracts and purchase orders.
• Monitor contracts and POs, track financial data and invoicing approvals.
• Forecast material needs with Construction and PMO for future projects.
• Coordinate with departments to meet delivery dates and communicate changes.
• Provide data on materials issued and review usage for cost savings.
