Job summary

Sunset Hills Country Club in Thousand Oaks, CA is seeking a dedicated Facilities Manager to oversee daily maintenance, safety, and presentation of the club’s facilities. You will lead the facilities team, manage preventive maintenance, and coordinate with departments to deliver an exceptional member experience.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, managing contractors, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years facilities, building maintenance, or engineering at a private club or similar property.
• At least 2 years supervising a team.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, flooring, and general building systems.
• Familiarity with pool, kitchen, and fitness equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of health, safety, fire, ADA, and building codes; Cal/OSHA preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication; able to work with Members and guests.
• Experience managing contractors and vendors, including bids and invoicing.
• Proficient with work-order systems and MS Word/Excel.
• Bilingual English–Spanish preferred.
• Valid California driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise the facilities team in daily operations.
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop facilities staff.
• Assign daily/weekly work; conduct performance evaluations.
• Report progress to the General Manager and Golf Course Superintendent weekly.
• Ensure clubhouse, dining, locker rooms, fitness centers, pool deck, and facilities meet standards.
• Oversee janitorial services and cleaning programs.
• Maintain preventive maintenance program and records for capital assets.
• Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, doors, roofing, flooring and FF&E.
• Ensure pool, courts, and kitchen equipment function properly.
• Manage budget and capital planning with vendors.
• Partner with other teams to support events and member schedules.
• Respond to after-hours facility emergencies.
