Job summary

BUILD Chicago is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee buildings, grounds, and equipment, ensuring a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment for staff and the public. The FM reports to the Director of Operations and coordinates maintenance, repairs, and new construction projects.

This full-time role requires five years in facility management, supervisory experience, and strong communication. You will manage subcontractors, budgeting, health and safety programs, and ensure compliance with

Qualifications

Five years of related work experience in facility management, repair and grounds.
Two years of lead/supervisory experience.
Valid Driver’s License and evidence of insurability.
Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with cost estimation of remodeling and facilities improvement projects.
Experience coordinating with construction managers, engineers and contractors.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a buildings and grounds maintenance program with inspections and work orders.
Coordinate maintenance, repairs, remodeling, renovation and new construction across all BUILD buildings.
Decide whether work is done by staff or subcontractors and manage subcontractor services.
Develop recommendations for capital outlay needs.
Determine staffing needs for facilities and oversee staff performance.
