Job summary

CBRE is seeking an onsite Facilities Manager for a 350,000 sq ft Palo Alto campus consisting of leased offices and testing labs. You will lead maintenance, space, and occupancy planning while partnering with Property Managers and landlords to drive operational excellence and a superior workplace experience.

You will oversee budgeting, safety, vendor relationships, and staff development, with a focus on efficiency, compliance, and client satisfaction in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with 3–5 years of relevant experience; equivalent education and experience will be considered.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Facilities Management certification preferred.
  • Experience managing commercial facilities and vendor oversight.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage facility repairs and maintenance performed by vendors and contractors.
  • Maintain positive client relationships and conduct meetings on unresolved facility issues.
  • Prepare and manage capital and operating projects.
  • Manage all aspects of budget development, implementation and monitoring.
  • Perform facility inspections and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and invoicing procedures; review price quotes for parts, services, and labor.

About The Role

As a CBRE Facilities Manager, you will be based onsite withthe client in Palo Alto, supporting a 350,000 square foot campus composed ofleased office space and testing labs. In this role, delivering both essential maintenanceservices and a high-touch, concierge level experience. Beyond day-to-day facilities management, youwill take on a strategic leadership role with responsibilities that includemaintenance planning, space planning, and occupancy planning. As part of our Facilities Management function, you willpartner closely with Property Managers and landlords to drive operationalexcellence, ensuring all sites operate efficiently, safely, and sustainablywhile delivering an exceptional workplace experience.

What You’ll Do
  • Coordinate and manage facility repairs and maintenance performed by vendors, and contractors.
  • Maintain positive client relationships and conduct meetings on unresolved facility issues.
  • Prepare and manage capital and operating projects.
  • Manage all aspects of budget development, implementation and monitoring.
  • Perform facility inspections, following local, state, and federal regulations. Suggest operational efficiencies, repairs, and upgrade opportunities.
  • Manage environmental health and safety procedures for facilities.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and invoicing procedures. Review price quotes for the procurement of parts, services, and labor for projects.
  • Conduct process and procedure training on maintenance, repairs, and safety best practices.
  • Provide formal supervision for employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence stakeholders to achieve consensus.
  • Apply knowledge of own discipline and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues which may or may not be apparent in existing systems and processes.
What You’ll Need
  • Proven experience managing commercial facilities, including daily operations, maintenance activities, regulatory compliance, and vendor oversight
  • Demonstrated people‑leadership experience, including supervising onsite teams, setting performance expectations, providing coaching and feedback, and driving accountability
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with 3–5 years of relevant experience; equivalent education and experience will be considered. Valid driver’s license required. Facilities Management certification preferred
  • Experience developing, managing, and tracking operating budgets
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams, vendors, and clients
  • Ability to navigate sensitive or complex situations, resolve issues, and influence outcomes
  • Experience with occupancy planning and space planning preferred
  • Working knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with strong technical aptitude. Preferred working knowledge of AutoCAD and Tririga
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive, problem‑solving mindset
  • Advanced math skills, including the ability to calculate percentages, fractions, and other financial metrics
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future

California Residents: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Facilities Manager position is $135,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Facilities Manager position is $145,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
